PURPOSE:
To consider approving an MOU with Ring to provide Dekalb County Police Department access to the Ring Neighborhoods platform and communicate with Ring Neighbors and encourage community engagement to make DeKalb County neighborhoods safer; and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
DeKalb County Police Department continues to look at innovative ways to address crime throughout the County. One way is to strength Police-Business Partnerships allowing for shared information to assist in the reduction of crime. Establishing an MOU with Ring provides access to their digital neighborhood platform as well as it provides an opportunity to strength communications with the community.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no compensation requirement as a result of this program.
