PURPOSE:

To consider accepting and appropriating to the existing grant fund, the additional Federal and State funds in the amount of $438,502.60 from the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) for aging services for the period July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019; to consider authorizing the Finance Department to issue payments to subcontractors using the Federal and State funds given to DeKalb County.

NEED/IMPACT:

The Atlanta Regional Commission received additional funding to assist the County Based Agencies in the reduction of their waiting lists.  The DeKalb County/Human Services department has approximately 1003 seniors on the waiting list for various senior services.  The additional funding will assist in providing services for approximately 220 seniors who need either in-home services, home delivered meals or congregate meals. This brings the total funding including the match to $2,594,997.60 for this fiscal year, July1, 2018 - June 30, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact to the County
