PURPOSE:
To consider accepting the donation 1305 Custer Avenue and 2518 Donzi Lane from Clark Atlanta University for the development of a pedestrian walking trail. In exchange for the donation of these parcels, the County will consolidate the four adjacent parcels owned by Clark Atlanta University.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Purchase and Sale Agreement outlines the terms of the agreement whereby the County will acquire 1305 Custer Avenue and 2518 Donzi Lane from Clark Atlanta University. These two parcels, which are located in the stream buffer, will be used for the development of a pedestrian walking trail that is planned to connect to the Atlanta Beltline. In exchange for the donation of these parcels, the County will consolidate the four adjacent parcels owned by Clark Atlanta University.
FISCAL IMPACT:
At this time, there is no cost to acquire the two parcels; however, the County will incur some costs associated with the closing of the two parcels.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
Authorize the County to accept the donation of 1305 Custer Avenue and 2518 Donzi Lane and to consolidate the four adjacent parcels owned by Clark Atlanta University. Authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents in connection with the acquisition, closing and consolidation.
