PURPOSE:
1. To consider acceptance of WIOA Grant funds not to exceed $106,000 for employment and training activities for Adult eligible participants for Fiscal Year 2018.
2. To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
WorkSource DeKalb received notice of the grant allocation from TCSG for Adult FY 2018. This approval will permit expeditious handling of grant funding for adult programming to ensure continuous service to the DeKalb County Inmate Welding Program at Georgia Piedmont Technical College.
WIOA provides funding to Adult participants enrolled in employment and training activities. These funds will be utilized to assist an additional cohort of inmates with completing a welding program offered by Georgia Piedmont Technical College along with job search assistance and support services activities. No funds have been received or expended and no workforce activities are being conducted for the above-mentioned grant.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No impact to County funds. 100% Federal Funds - U.S. Department of Labor; no matching funds required.

Recommended Action
• Accept the WIOA Grant, not to exceed $106,00 for employment and training activities of Adult Funding Programs for FY 2018. Appropriate the amount of funds awarded to the Grant Fund; Authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documentation.
