PURPOSE:
To consider the acceptance of WIOA grant funds not to exceed $181,753.74 for employment and training activities for eligible youth participants.
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
WorkSource DeKalb received notice of the grant allocation from TCSG,OWD for Youth PY/FY2018 funding in the amount of $181,753.74. This approval will permit expeditious handling of grant funding for youth programming to ensure continuous service to DeKalb youth for employment and training services.
WIOA provides funding to youth participants enrolled in a variety of programs and services to enhance employment skills and assist with training credentials. No funds have been received, expended and no workforce activities are being conducted for the above -mentioned grant.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No impact to County funds. 100% Federal Funds - U.S. Department of Labor; no matching funds required.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
Accept the WIOA Grant, not to exceed $181,753.74 for employment and training services of Youth Funding Programs for PY/FY 2018. Appropriate the amount of funds awarded to the Grant fund account; Authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documentation.
