PURPOSE:

•To consider approving the FY19 Homeland Security Grant Program/Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) funding; and 
•To consider accepting $64,550.00 from the Georgia Office of Homeland Security/GEMA and appropriating $64,550.00 to the grant fund for spending in compliance with the grantor’s requirements; and
•To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

This grant agreement governs the use of the funds provided by the State of Georgia to assist the DeKalb County Police Department to build and enhance capabilities to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from terrorist attacks, major disasters, and other emergencies in accordance with the goals and objectives of the State Strategic Plan.  This grant will be dedicated to the purchase of equipment and supplies for the Special Operations Division (SOD) of the Police Department.
