PURPOSE:

To consider accepting the FY20 Victim of Crimes Act (VOCA) grant award in the amount of $212,075 from the Prosecuting Attorney’s Council (PAC) to fund salaries for four (4) Victim-Witness Advocates, professional development through trainings and conferences, and program supplies.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

PAC/CJCC awarded the Solicitor-General’s Office the VOCA grant for our office to continue providing essential victim-centered services and resources; being adequately staffed; and trainings and other professional development activities in order to be better equipped and knowledgeable when dealing with victims of crime. 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The award provides additional funds the Solicitor’s Office for victim-centered services. A county match of 20% ($53,019) is required and covered through our transfer to grants account.
