CO - Change Order No. 1 to Contract No. 1119346 for Design Build Services for Scott Candler Water Treatment Plant - High Services Pump Station (HSPS) Header & Transfer Pumps Replacement: for use by the Department of Watershed Management (DWM). This contract consists of providing design and construction services to remove and replace the transfer pump station's main intake header, which is showing severe signs of corrosion, and to include the removal and replacement of four (4) small transfer pumps with two (2) large variable frequency drive (VFD) transfer pumps for increased efficiency and capacity of the water distribution system. This request is to revise the scope of work and increase funding to purchase two (2) Allen Bradley VFD pumps to satisfy current communication and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) requirements. PURPOSE:
Awarded by BOC on August 14, 2018 for amount not to exceed $3,961,915.00. This contract consists of the removal and replacement of the Scott Candler Water Treatment Plant HSPS No. 1 existing main intake header. Services include the removal of four (4) small 5,000 gallons per minute (gpm) axial transfer pumps and replacement with two (2) large 15,500 VFD transfer pumps. During the design phase, DWM identified that the confines of the building space required additional HVAC to mitigate equipment generated heat. Additionally, it was determined that the two (2) new VFDs would allow for system consistency and performance with existing Allen Bradley Program Logic controllers.
