PURPOSE:

To consider accepting the annual Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) grant from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council in the amount of $50,786, for the District Attorney’s Office for the grant year January 1, 2020 - December 31, 2020; and

To consider the continuation of the Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Investigator position funded by the grant; and

To authorize the CEO to execute all necessary documents.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The VAWA Grant’s purpose is to enhance services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking. The District Attorney’s Office has funded an investigator through this grant for several years.

 

The required match funds of $16,929 are maintained in 03810.573053.100 and are included at the 2019 level in the D.A’s 2020 budget request.

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

None. Match funds were included in the D.A’s FY 2020 budget, at the same level as for FY 2019.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action
