PURPOSE:
To consider accepting the supplemental grant award in the amount of $6,000 from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) to provide ongoing mental health treatment services to youth in the Journey Mental Health Court.

To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer and/or his designee to execute the grant agreement and all necessary documents.

NEED/IMPACT:
The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) awarded the DeKalb County Juvenile Court supplemental funding for the continuation of treatment services to youth enrolled in the Journey Mental Health Court program. The purpose of this program is to serve at-risk youth within DeKalb County who have become involved in the court and have been diagnosed with an Axis I mental health disorder. Journey provides services to female juvenile offenders between the ages of 14 and 17. The program includes court and community supervision; individual and family treatment; educational support; and pro-social development activities.

The supplemental funding award will fund the employment of contracted therapists (treatment providers). The award requires a 10% cash match in the amount of $667. The grant period is January 1, 2020-June 30, 2020.

FISCAL IMPACT:
The supplemental award will provide additional funding to the court's grants budget designated for the Journey Mental Health Court.
