PURPOSE:
WSD received notice the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Pilot Training Service Grant that was assisting participants with training funds was ending. The SNAP participants in this pilot were not WIOA eligible or co-enrolled. Therefore, we are requesting approval to accept funding from the DeKalb PIC to assist these customers so, they may complete their training services.
NEED/IMPACT:
The acceptance of these funds will allow these individuals to complete training which they began under the SNAP Pilot Training Service Grant that was discontinued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No impact to County funds. 100% of these funds are being donated by the DeKalb PIC. There is not a matching funds requirement from the County.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
Approve to accept funding from the DeKalb PIC not exceed $9362.49 for training activities for SNAP customers.
Appropriate the amount of funds awarded to the Grant Fund.
Authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute necessary documents.
