PURPOSE:
To consider approval of the official retirement and sale of K-9’s Eli and Django to their handlers for the sum of $1.00 each.
NEED/IMPACT:
K-9 Eli began his service to the County in August 2014 with his handler Sergeant E. Bates. K-9 Django began his service February 2013 with his handler Sergeant F. Cusimano. Each have performed exemplary work for the Police Department and the citizens of Dekalb County. Due to various health issues and concerns they have reached a point in their careers for retirement.
FISCAL IMPACT:
To transfer ownership of Eli and Django at a cost of $1.00 each to their handlers.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To approve the resolution for the official retirement and sale of K-9’s Eli and Django to their handlers.
