Approval of Federal State Block Grant Funding in the amount of $157,000, as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. There is no cost to the County.

PURPOSE:
To consider approving state block grant funding in the amount of $157,000 from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) (through the Georgia Department of Transportation), as part of the Cares Act; and
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the County and the Airport has received $157,000 from the FAA’s State Block Funding Program, as part of the Cares Act.
The funding is in the amount of $157,000. The distribution will be provided at a 100% federal share, with no local match required.
The funding can be spent immediately to help minimize any adverse impact from the current coronavirus public health emergency
The County Attorney has not reviewed the grant documents.
Grant documents are in the Office of the Director, DeKalb Peachtree Airport.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This is federal state block funding to the County and the Airport in the amount of $157,000. There is no cost to the County.
