PURPOSE:
o To consider accepting a grant award in amount of $44,563 from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council to implement intensive drug and/or alcohol treatment, supervision and wrap around services to adults with children in Division of Family and Children Services (DFACs) custody and struggling with drug and/or alcohol addiction.
o To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer and/or his designee to execute the Grant Agreement and all necessary documents.

NEED/IMPACT:
The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council awarded DeKalb County Juvenile Court funding for the INSPIRE Family Treatment Court. It is a 18-24-month comprehensive program that will utilize a team approach to working with adults with children in Division of Family and Children Services (DFACs) custody and struggling with drug and/or alcohol addiction. Participants will engage in intensive long-term treatment in conjunction with individual and group therapy, accountability through frequent court appearances, observed random drug screenings, and community-based support. The goal is to ensure that their children can live safely in their home, reduce the likelihood of relapse, empower parents to successfully address their needs as well as the needs of their child(ren), and build a foundation for a healthy family environment free from addiction.

The grant award will fund treatment providers, surveillance officer, and Marta transportation.
