PURPOSE:
Pursuant to 13A of the Organizational Act CEO Thurmond is nominating Mr. Charles L. Martin for reappointment to Post #7 onto the DeKalb Community Service Board, which holds a three-year term that will expire on June 30, 2023.
NEED/IMPACT:
The DeKalb Community Service Board provides mental health, developmental disability, and addictive diseases services at its facilities in DeKalb County. As stipulated in the DeKalb Community Service Board bylaws, the county governing authority shall appoint at least one of its appointments to be “a consumer of disability services, child psychiatrist, family member of a consumer, advocate for disability services, or a local leader or businessperson with an interest in mental health, developmental disabilities, and addictive diseases.” Mr. Charles L. Martin’s reappointment to the board would be an asset to the county and those who rely on the services provided through the DeKalb Community Service Board.
