PURPOSE:
To consider approving the Intergovernmental Agreement between Gwinnett, Gwinnett County Water and Sewage Authority and DeKalb County. The agreement allows Department of Watershed Management (DWM) to release raw sewage from the Norris Reserve Community into Gwinnett County’s sewer basin where the sewage will be treated.
NEED/IMPACT:
Currently, the Department of Watershed Management is modifying the existing force main that will redirect the flow to DeKalb County where the sewage will be treated at the Polebridge Advanced Wasterwater Treatment Plan. In the interim, DWM needs to extend its agreement with Gwinnett County and Gwinnett County Water and Sewage Authority so that sewage from the Norris Reserve Community can continue to flow and be treated in Gwinnett.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Department of Watershed will pay approximately $13,500 a month for Gwinnett County to treat sewage from the Norris Reserve Community.

Recommended Action
Department of Watershed Management recommends approving the Intergovernmental Agreement for the Norris Reserve Community in a form acceptable to the County Attorney and allowing the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
