PURPOSE:

DWM is requesting addition funding to the GDOT M005808 agreement for resurfacing and water and sewer installation/adjustments associated SR8/Lawrenceville Hwy from Fulton County Line to Gwinnett County Line improvement that is associated with Watershed Management in the amount of $179,376.00. GDOT original quote submitted to DWM dated February 6, 2020 stated the DWM portion being $91,650.00 however some items were omitted in the original agreement. A quote for the additional work was resubmitted for the resurfacing and water and sewer installation/adjustments associated with SR8/Lawrenceville Hwy from Fulton County Line to Gwinnett County

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The GDOT project M005808 resurface SR8/Lawrenceville Hwy from Fulton County Line to Gwinnett County Line in DeKalb County, Georgia. The Department of Watershed Management has existing utilities within the construction limits that are in conflict with the proposed work and need to be adjusted. Therefore, the County entered into a Contract Item Agreement with GDOT to include water and sewer installations/adjustments for the SR8/Lawrenceville Hwy from Fulton County Line to Gwinnett County Line project to prevent construction delays, minimized impact to adjacent property owners and the traveling public. The County has agreed to pay the cost of completing the work. This will ensure that there are funds on this agreement to enable the contractor to continue working on our water and sewer installation/adjustments.

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

Request approval for the change to agenda item 2020-0345 in the amount of $179,376.00 to be paid from Watershed Renewal & Extension(R&E) and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents for Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to perform resurfacing and water and sewer installation and adjustments associated with the following projects to complete these transactions.
