PURPOSE:
To accept $45,000 Park Pride Atlanta grant for Briarlake Forest Park and allocate $280,000 from District 2 Park Bond funds account 100592.80314.541100.05.600010 for the project.
NEED/IMPACT:
This grant will provide funding for a capital improvement project at Briarlake Forest Park. Renovations will include transforming the existing homestead to a pavilion and a nature center. The project budget is $480,000:
Park Pride Grant $45,000
Friends of Briarlake Forest Park $5,000
District 7 Park Bond Funds $150,000
District 2 Park Bond Funds $280,000
FISCAL IMPACT:
No impact to the 2021 operating budget. The District 7 Park Bonds funds were approved in 2018.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To approve the resolution to accept $45,000 Park Pride Atlanta grant for Briarlake Forest Park and allocate $280,000 from District 2 Park Bond funds account 100592.80314.541100.05.600010 for the project; and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents to complete the project.
