PURPOSE:
Awarded by the BOC on August 28, 2018 for five (5) fire pumpers for an amount not to exceed $3,391,110.00. On July 9, 2019, the BOC approved an additional purchase of three (3) additional units for an amount not to exceed $2,218,949.00. On April 28, 2020, the BOC approved an additional purchase of six (6) fire pumpers for an amount not to exceed $4,437,896.68. Consists of the purchase of eight (8) additional fire pumpers used to pump water to extinguish fires and haul EMS equipment. The additional units are needed to replace an aging fleet that requires higher maintenance costs. Because the vendor held the pricing from 2019 to 2020 and refrained from implementing the standard annual 3% price increase, the savings was $22,189.48 per truck. Although Sutphen had a 4% increase, the attached proposal reflects the 2020 pricing plus only a 3% price increase with an additional discount for a multi-truck order. This will be the last purchase off this contract. The next purchase of pumpers will not be until 2023/24. These are replacement units under the ten (10) year replacement schedule.

RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
