PURPOSE:
To designate $100,000 of District 5 Reserve for Appropriation funds for the E.M.B.A.R.C. Youth Community Farm Project.
NEED/IMPACT:
The DeKalb County E.M.B.A.R.C. Community Youth Farm will be a park and community hub which aims to provide a place to grow food and come together to learn, engage, and sustain. E.M.B.A.R.C. stands for Education, Market, Botanicals, Agriculture, and Recreational Center and represents the journey DeKalb County is beginning together as a community and the growth that will be experienced through it.
The Fruitful Communities Initiative is a landscaping plan that helps state, county, and local governments, and mid-sized developers establish regenerative food systems through planning and design consulting, training, Productive Urban Landscape (PUL) education, and ongoing community outreach.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Decrease appropriations for the following account by the amount indicated below: Non - Departmental - Unincorporated Fund - Reserve for Appropriation (09130.579002.272.0000.0000) - $100,000

To approve the resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
