PURPOSE:
Since June 2016, the BOC has approved $3,769,449.00 for the purchase of the current body camera system used by the County’s sworn public safety personnel. This equipment is proprietary, and the vendor is the sole entity with the authority, access, and ability to provide enhancements, upgrades and warranty support for its hardware and software products. This request is to establish a new 5-year contract for the continued purchase of the BodyWorn Camera system and support of the existing systems. If the County does not continue with the vendor, the current system will not be supported, and a replacement of the entire system would become necessary.

Recommend approval of the sole source with:
Utility Associates, Inc., 250 E. Ponce de Leon Avenue, Suite 700, Decatur, GA 30030
Amount Not To Exceed: $4,159,861.50
and authorize the CEO to execute the contract and all associated documents.
