PURPOSE:
To consider authorizing the acceptance of funds, up to $150,000, for the remainder of fiscal year 2021 and in perpetuity, for the c Collection of Participant Fines into a new Grant Fund Account.
NEED/IMPACT:
Mental Health Court participants may be responsible for paying fines associated with missed or late appointments. The fines are a minimum of $25 or a maximum of $50 depending on the severity of the sanction(s). The fines are used to offset costs for supportive services, including drug abuse treatment, mental health treatment, supplies, and other components necessary to sustain the program
FISCAL IMPACT:
Felony Mental Health Court participant may be responsible for paying fines associated with missed or late appointments. The fines are a minimum of $25 or a maximum of $50 depending on the severity of the sanction(s). Funds will be placed in a new grant fund account to be used to offset costs for the Felony Mental Health Court program for the remainder of 2021 and in perpetuity.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To approve the resolution and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents. Authorize the acceptance of up to $150,000 in funds, for the remainder of 2021 and in perpetuity, into a new Felony Mental Health Court Collection of Participant Fines Account into a new Grant Fund Account.
