PURPOSE:
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute an agreement with Georgia Power for the maintenance of roadway lighting installed as part of the GDOT reconstruction of the Flat Shoals Road at I-285 Interchange;
NEED/IMPACT:
On July 24, 2012, the Board of Commissioners authorized entering into an agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation in which GDOT agreed to install roadway lighting as part of their interchange reconstruction project if the county agreed to operate and maintain the lights. The proposed agreement with Georgia Power will allow for Georgia Power to provide routine maintenance services for the roadway lights based on monthly fees per light.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Annual cost is $11,478.00 to be paid out of the Public Works - Transportation operating budget.
