PURPOSE:
To consider adopting the attached resolution creating Traffic Calming District 21-18-07 in Land Lot 115 of the 18th District; to consider authorizing the installation of traffic calming measures (speed tables) and appropriate signage on Mount Olive Drive between Laurel Ridge Drive and Delcourt Drive; to consider assessing all properties in the affected area an annual maintenance cost of $25.00.
NEED/IMPACT:
Cut-thru has been confirmed on Mount Olive Drive between Laurel Ridge Drive and Delcourt Drive, which meets the criteria for traffic calming measures. Owners of 65.58% of the eligible properties in the identified affected area have signed the petition to have traffic calming measures installed. The public hearing has been advertised and appropriate signs have been posted notifying residents in the area.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost of initial installation of traffic calming measures is estimated to be $54,480. All properties in the affected area will be assessed a yearly maintenance cost of $25.00 during the life of the traffic calming measures beginning the first year after installation.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
Adopt the attached resolution to create Traffic Calming District 21-18-07 in Land Lot 115 of the 18th District; and Authorize the installation of traffic calming measures (speed tables) and appropriate signage Mount Olive Drive between Laurel Ridge Drive and Delcourt Drive in the district; and assess all properties in the affected area of the district an annual $25.00 maintenance cost after the first year through the life of the traffic calming measures.
