PURPOSE:

The allocation of these funds will support the District 5 Senior Health, Wellness, and Food Holiday initiative to provide District 5 seniors with grocery gift cards, COVID-19 booster shots, and flu shots to address food insecurity and the health and wellness of District 5 seniors amid the COVID-10 pandemic.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

According to the CDC Foundation, the COVID-19 public health emergency has significantly impacted older Americans and their families. Many Seniors have experienced challenges getting basic household supplies, food, and health care. 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

$100,000 from District 5 Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act appropriation.
