PURPOSE:
To adopt a resolution urging the General Assembly to amend state law to allow counties that provide urban services to collect franchise fees.
NEED/IMPACT:
To ensure the majority of franchise fees are collected by municipalities and counties; the ability for counties to collect franchise fees would allow additional resources to drive economic development in unincorporated areas.
