PURPOSE:
To consider reserving $50,000.00 from District 3 Category 1M - Commissioner District Transportation Projects Funds for construction of a new traffic signal at the Flat Shoals Parkway (SR 155) at Warriors Path intersection;
To consider authorizing the payment of $50,000.00 to the Georgia Department of Transportation; and
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents to facilitate this work.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Georgia Department of Transportation is proposing to construct a traffic signal at the Flat Shoals Parkway at Warriors Path intersection with a maximum GDOT contribution of $200,000.00. There is anticipated to be a $50,000.00 Dekalb County match needed toward the estimated $250,000.00 construction cost. The proposed traffic signal will improve safety and operations at this intersection.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$50,000.00 from line item 1M SPLOST funds.
