PURPOSE:

The SOW for this program includes literacy activities, music and movement, snacks, art and science, workshops co-planned with families, and an array of resources and supports, including referrals to rent assistance, food, mental health, employment, and other services requested by families who have been impacted by COVID-19. 

 

NEED/IMPACT:

Many of the immigrants who came to the U.S. from Latin America and the Caribbean struggle as economically This is an immediate need by citizens and children due to the educational lapse and financial hardship caused by the pandemic. These services are needed immediately to help provide individuals with critical resources needed to successfully transition into our community as soon as possible so there is insufficient time to process a solicitation.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

This District 6 ARP appropriation of $50,000 will provide financial assistance to implement this important training and support program.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

Approve the District 6 ARP appropriation, and the attached scope of work which will be used by Law for the MOA. This referenced appropriation and project has been vetted by Purchasing & Contracting and pre-approved as an emergency.
