PURPOSE:
To authorize payment to Archer Western the awarded vendor of GDOT for the water installation/adjustments to upgrade existing utilities at the Covington Hwy and I-285 bridge crossing, and add safety improvements associated with the following project; and to authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute agreement that allow for the payments and to execute all necessary documents to complete this transaction:

NEED/IMPACT:
The GDOT projects PI 0017129 I-285 Bridge Replacement at Covington Highway, Redwing Circle and Glenwood Rd in DeKalb County, Georgia. The Department of Watershed Management has existing utilities within the construction limits that are in conflict with the proposed work or need to be replaced. Therefore, the County is to enter into an agreement with GDOT's awarded vendor, Archer Western to complete the utility work at Covington Hwy and I-285 bridge crossing for the GDOT project PI 0017129 I-285 Bridge Replacement at Covington Highway, Redwing Circle and Glenwood Rd in DeKalb County to prevent construction delays, minimized impact to adjacent property owners and the traveling public. The County must agree to pay the estimated cost of completing the work.
