PURPOSE:
To consider approval of $160,000 for an Intergovernmental Agreement between DeKalb County Government and Georgia Piedmont Technical College for instruction and utilization of the Blackboard/GALIS learning management software for the DeKalb Virtual Career Academy 2022.
NEED/IMPACT:
The purpose of the Intergovernmental Agreement is to allow the aforementioned parties to collaborate and provide academic enrichment, career readiness training, credentialing courses, GED instruction, and additional counseling to DeKalb County youth between sixteen (16) and twenty-four (24) years of age in a safe, healthy, and remote, virtual learning environment due to the circumstances of the pandemic, the shelter in place order, and social distancing guidelines.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The fiscal impact would not exceed $160,000.
