PURPOSE:
To consider approval of the official retirement and transfer of K-9 Ace to his handler Fire Investigator Henry Patterson; and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
Ace arrived from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and began his service as the state’s Accelerant Detection Canine with Dekalb County Fire Rescue on April 15, 2015. During the past 7 years, Ace and his handler Fire Investigator Patterson, have performed exemplary work for the Dekalb County Fire Rescue Department and the citizens of Dekalb County.
FISCAL IMPACT:
To transfer ownership of ACE at no cost to his handler Fire Investigator Henry Patterson.
