PURPOSE:
To consider approval of $160,000 for an Intergovernmental Agreement between DeKalb County Government and Georgia Piedmont Technical College for instruction and utilization of the Blackboard/GALIS learning management software for the DeKalb Virtual Career Academy 2023.
NEED/IMPACT:
The purpose of the Intergovernmental Agreement is to allow the aforementioned parties to collaborate and provide academic enrichment, career readiness training, credentialing courses, GED instruction, and additional counseling to DeKalb County youth between sixteen (16) and twenty-four (24) years of age. Due to the county’s continued focus on economic security and providing positive, safe, and productive opportunities for DeKalb’s youth, selected interns will be able to virtually “learn and earn” critical job readiness skills.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The fiscal impact would not exceed $160,000.
