PURPOSE:
Consists of purchasing from the competitively let TIPS Contract No. 230105 for the purchase of a NetApp AFF A50 enterprise storage platform that stores and provides access to data used by the County’s critical operational applications. The purchase includes storage hardware and software capable of encrypting stored information, as well as maintenance support for five (5) years. This purchase also replaces and upgrades the out-of-date hardware that has reached its end-of-life and is no longer secure or supported by the manufacturer. These replacement services are necessary to reduce security vulnerabilities and equipment failure risks and protect continuity of government and public safety operations. Failure to approve could result in storage failure or security incidents that make multiple applications unavailable, as well as the loss of essential data, and County services disruptions. The lack of manufacturer support could also prolong service recovery.
