PURPOSE:
The Purpose of This Agenda Item is to provide funding for UBiG Barbados 60th Jubilee Independence Programming.
NEED/IMPACT:
Supporting DeKalb UBiG’s celebration of Barbados’ 60th Diamond Jubilee Independence is an opportunity to honor the cultural heritage and contributions of Barbadian residents within DeKalb County while strengthening our ties to the broader Caribbean diaspora. This event fosters cross‑cultural understanding, community pride, and deeper civic engagement, all of which enrich the social fabric of our county. Investing in this milestone celebration also reinforces DeKalb’s commitment to inclusivity, global connectedness, and recognition of the diverse communities that call our county home. By supporting this programming, we help promote cultural preservation, strengthen community partnerships, and elevate DeKalb’s role as a champion of multicultural engagement and representation.

An Amount Not to exceed $10,000.00 of the District 7 Reserve for Appropriation, contributed towards DeKalb UBiG Barbados 60th Jubilee Independence Programming.

Recommended Action
To approve the allocation of an amount not to exceed $10,000 for DeKalb UBiG Barbados 60th Jubilee Independence and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
