CO - Change Order No. 2 to Contract No. 1268898 Kensington Pump Station and Pipeline Project: for use by the Department of Watershed Management (DWM). This contract consists of the construction of the new Kensington Road Sanitary Sewer Pump Station to replace a network of failing gravity sewer mains. Awarded to Ruby Collins, Inc. PURPOSE:
Awarded by the BOC on October 12, 2022 for an amount not to exceed $2,310,667.00. On October 25, 2022, the BOC approved Change Order No. 1 to increase funding in an amount not to exceed $174,420.29. This contract consists of the construction of the Kensington Road Sanitary Sewer Pump Station. The installation includes: a precast concrete wet well, jib crane, concrete valve vault, electrical control panel with protective metal canopy and emergency power generator. The project also includes the installation of 10-inch, 8-inch, and 6-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) gravity sewer, and 6-inch DIP force main. Lastly, an 18-inch RCP storm drain will be installed on the eastern-most side of the proposed facility along with other ancillary improvements including clearing, grubbing, and site restoration.
Supply chain shortages have caused delays in receiving backup generators for the pumping station. This request, to increase the contract term, will allow time to complete the installation of the new pump station which will assist in increasing water flow and decrease failures and service interruptions.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
Recommend approval of Change Order No. 2 with:
Ruby Collins, Inc., 4875 Martin Court SE, Smyrna, Georgia 30082
and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the change order and all associated documents
