PURPOSE:
To consider approving the GY2021 - GY2023 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) grant to receive project supplies and equipment; and
To consider accepting project supplies and equipment purchased by UASI on behalf of the DeKalb County Police, DeKalb County Fire Rescue, and the DeKalb Emergency Management Departments in amounts not to exceed $940,431.75; and
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
The attached multi-project Memorandum of Understanding governs the use of supplies and equipment provided by UASI to assist the DeKalb County Police, DeKalb County Fire Rescue, and the DeKalb Emergency Management Departments in preventing, protecting, responding to, and recovering from threats or acts of terrorism and to build capabilities that enhance homeland security for the Atlanta metropolitan area.

Recommended Action
To approve the GY2021 - GY2023 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) grant to receive project supplies and equipment; and To consider accepting project supplies and equipment purchased by UASI on behalf of the DeKalb County Police, DeKalb County Fire Rescue and the DeKalb Emergency Management Departments in amounts not to exceed $940,431.75; and To approve the resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
