PURPOSE:
Pursuant to Section 13A of the DeKalb County Organizational Act and the DeKalb County Community Improvement Districts Act of 2008, as codified in Section 1314, et. seq. of the DeKalb County Code of Ordinances, CEO Cochran-Johnson nominates Mr. Hunter Hines for appointment to the Chamblee-Doraville Community Improvement District (CID) Board.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Chamblee-Doraville CID is authorized to ensure the provision of the following governmental services and facilities: (1) street and road construction and maintenance, including curbs, sidewalks, street lights, and devices to control the flow of traffic on streets and roads; (2) parks and recreational areas and facilities; (3) storm water and sewage collection and disposal systems; (4) development, storage, treatment, purification, and distribution of water; (5) public transportation; (6) terminal and dock facilities and parking facilities and (7) such other services and facilities as may be provided for by general law. As outlined in Section 1318(a) of the DeKalb County Code of Ordinances, “One board member shall be appointed by the governing authority of DeKalb County.”
Mr. Hunter Hines, as Director of the DeKalb Peachtree Airport, possesses the professional and personal experience to ably serve on the Chamblee - Doraville CID. The County’s Appointment to the Chamblee-Doraville CID Board serves at the pleasure of the DeKalb County Governing Authority.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No cost to the County.
