PURPOSE:

To obtain BOC approval of the 2025/2026 agreement between DeKalb County RPCA and the DeKalb County School Nutrition Services to provide after school snacks to nine Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs programs.  DeKalb County RPCA is responsible for serving after school snacks provided by DeKalb County School Nutrition and shall maintain HACCP Procedures.  The estimated total cost of the food contract is $70,470.00 with a term of August 4th, 2025, through May 28th, 2026. School Nutrition Services will not provide meals if schools are closed for inclement weather.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The DeKalb County School Nutrition Services will provide after school snacks to the following recreation centers:  Gresham Recreation Center, Tobie Grant Recreation Center, Exchange Recreation Center, Midway Recreation Center, Mason Mill Recreation Center, Lucious Sanders Recreation Center, N.H. Scott Recreation Center, Hamilton Recreation Center, and East Central DeKalb Senior Community/Student Center.  The snacks will be used in the after school programs at these recreation centers effective August 4th, 2025 through May 28th, 2026.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

To be funded by RPCA’s operating budget at an estimated cost of $70,470.00

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To approve the 2025/2026 agreement between DeKalb County Government and DeKalb County School District to have DeKalb County School Nutrition Services provide after school snacks to nine RPCA recreation centers; and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents.
