PURPOSE:
To appropriate FY2024 CPF funds to DeKalb County Government to provide programmatic and capital improvements to the YMCA of Metro Atlanta- South DeKalb location and DeKalb County residents impacted by services provided at the South DeKalb location of the Metro Atlanta YMCA.
NEED/IMPACT:
The grant funds will be used to transform the South DeKalb Family YMCA and empower thousands of DeKalb County residents to thrive. Through these grant funds and investments, the South DeKalb Family YMCA aims to narrow disparities across health, community, and economic prosperity and build a more equitable community in which every person has the opportunity to realize their full potential. Our fundraising effort prioritizes a significant investment in programming and capacity building alongside needed capital renovations and expansions. Programming funding will support staffing expenses, program innovations, and expanded access to ensure we continue the significant level of financial assistance provided to the community.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Grant Period January 1, 2025, through August 31, 2032

Recommended Action
To approve the appropriation of FY2024 Community Project Funding (CPF) award by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grant funds to DeKalb County Government in the amount of $4,000,000.00; and authorize the CEO to execute the necessary agreements/document in a form that is acceptable to the County Attorney. The award funds are for the YMCA of Metro Atlanta- South DeKalb.
