PURPOSE:
To consider amending the FY 2026 Metro Atlanta Multi-Jurisdictional DUI Task Force (HEAT) Grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to include the required County match contribution of $30,194.84 in accordance with grant requirements; and to consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
This is a renewal grant of the DUI and Aggressive Driving Enforcement partnership between the DeKalb County Police Department and the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. These funds will be used for salaries as well as operating, training, and travel expenses incurred for Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic (HEAT) operations by DeKalb Police Department officers. Activities are directed towards combating aggressive and impaired driving.
This item amends the previously submitted agenda item (2025-1217) to reflect the required County match contribution of $30,194.94. The grant award remains $120,779.36, resulting in a total program amount of $150,974.20. No other changes are being made to the agenda item.
