PURPOSE:

Consists of purchasing from the competitively let Sourcewell Cooperative Contract for the provision of one (1) heavy duty 105 ft. mid-mount tractor drawn aerial ladder truck; one (1) heavy duty 100 ft. -mount aerial ladder truck and one (1) heavy duty pumper truck.  These vehicles are designated for transporting firefighters and equipment to incidents for firefighting operations and to promptly respond to fire calls throughout the County. The ladder trucks are equipped with extendable boom ladders for fire rescue missions. Several of the apparatus has reached the end of their service life and needs replacement.  These trucks are replacement units under the ten (10) year vehicle replacement cycle.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

Recommend approval to purchase from the Sourcewell Cooperative Contract No. 113021-SUT with:

 

The Sutphen Corporation, 6450 Eiterman Rd., Dublin, OH  43016

 

Estimated Amount Not To Exceed:  $6,172,187.77

 

and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the contract and all associated documents.
