PURPOSE:
*To amend agenda item 2024-0219 to accept an additional $7,000 from the FY21 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) subgrant agreement through the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), to receive project equipment now totaling $87,000, and
*To ask the Board to approve the subgrant agreement in a final form acceptable to the County Attorney or her designee; and
*To approve the resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Board of Commissioners previously approved agenda item number 2024-0219 on February 27, 2024 to receive $80,000 from the FY2021 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Subgrant Agreement through the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC). The project equipment increased from $80,000 to $87,000. The Atlanta Regional Commission is providing an additional $7,000 to cover the cost increase. This Subgrant Agreement governs the use of equipment provided by UASI through the ARC to assist the DeKalb EMA in preventing, protecting, responding to, and recovering from threats or acts of terrorism and building capabilities that will support emergency preparedness in the region.
