PURPOSE:

To consider adopting a resolution to authorize the Transportation Division to submit a federal aid grant application to seek $2,560,000.00 in federal funding for right of way acquisition for the Clairmont Road, North Decatur Road, Clifton Road and Church Street Traffic Signal Upgrade Project (GDOT PI# 0006999) for use in fiscal year 2019 and to consider allowing the CEO to administer all necessary documents related to the application.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) requires a resolution from the Board of Commissioners prior to submitting any federal aid applications to ensure that the local government understands the administrative and financial responsibilities should the project application be selected.  If awarded, another agenda item will be presented to the Board of Commissioners for acceptance.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

DeKalb County is currently responsible for the entire right of way cost of $3,200,000.00.  If awarded the full requested federal aid amount of $2,560,000.00, the County’s local match would be reduced to $640,000.00.
