PURPOSE:
To approve the transfer of $128,089.15 from the District 6 Reserve for Appropriations to the District 6 Operating Budget allocated to “other professional services” to reimburse the expenses that were required to plan, coordinate, and execute 2024 D6 DeKalb Green New Deal and Environmental Justice Community programs. projects, and initiatives all focusing on Justice 40 and efforts to save the environment by maximizing more green and sustainable efforts.
NEED/IMPACT:
Communities across Georgia are experiencing the effects of climate change through unpredictable and disruptive weather, high energy bills, flooding, and extreme heat. To identify best practices and innovative initiatives and engagement Commissioner Terry continues his focus on community programs. projects, and initiatives all focusing on Justice 40 and efforts to save the environment by maximizing more green and sustainable efforts. 2023-1493 approved transferring D6 Reserves to D6 Operating to augment the costs
related to D6 Green New Deal and Environmental Justice initiatives. (see attachment)
This agenda item requests BOC approval to transfer District 6 Reserves for Appropriations to the District 6 Operating Budget for other professional service expenses FY2024.

Approve a transfer of $128,089.15 from the D6 Reserve for Appropriation to the District 6 Operating Budget for “her professional services” and to authorize the CEO or his designee to execute all necessary documents.
