PURPOSE:
To authorize payment to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) for the pedestrian access and safety with a sidewalk enhancement associated with the following project; and to authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute agreement that allow for the payments and to execute all necessary documents to complete this transaction:
• PI 0015629 State Route 236 from Leafmore Place to Pangborn Road in DeKalb County estimated $1,421,939.
NEED/IMPACT:
The GDOT projects P.I. No. 0015629 for the pedestrian access and safety with a sidewalk enhancement on State Route 236 from Leafmore Place to Pangborn Road in DeKalb County, Georgia. The Department of Watershed Management has existing utilities within the construction limits that are in conflict with the proposed work or need to be replaced/relocated. Therefore, the County entered into a Contact Item Agreement with GDOT to include installations/adjustments for the State Route 236 from Leafmore Place to Pangborn Road in DeKalb County project to prevent construction delays, minimized impact to adjacent property owners and the traveling public. The County must agree to pay the estimated cost of completing the work; the exact payment amount will be based on unit bid prices.
