PURPOSE:
Awarded by the BOC, on June 22, 2021, as a cooperative agreement in an amount not to exceed $5,249,250.00. On December 12, 2023, the BOC approved Change Order No. 1 to increase the contract term through June 30, 2025. On March 26, 2024, the BOC approved Change Order No. 2 to transfer the existing contract’s remaining funds and contract term from Pure Technologies U.S., Inc. dba Wachs Water Services (a Xylem, Inc. brand) to Xylem Dewatering Solutions, Inc. dba Wachs Water Services. On July 22, 2025, the BOC approved Change Order No. 3 to increase the scope of work, funding by $1,671,500.00, and contract term through December 31, 2026. This contract consists of piggybacking off the competitively let City of East Point annual contract for the performance of water valve condition assessments and evaluations. These services include locating, accessing, and clean-out of the valve structures; the collection of over 30 valve attributes and capture of a sub-foot GPS locate; and the documentation of necessary work orders that will allow for valve operability. This request seeks to increase the contract term through December 31, 2027. This increase will allow the contractor to continue valve exercising, opening closed valves, and raising covered valves to flush stale water and protect water quality in the County.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
Recommend approval of Change Order No. 4 with:
Xylem Dewatering Solutions, Inc., 26717 Network Place, Chicago, IL 60673
and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the change order and all associated documents.
