PURPOSE:

To consider accepting supplemental grant award in the amount of $18,600 from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council Office to provide additional funds to the Juvenile Court’s CAP Court for the continuation of evidence-based programming and transportation.

To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer and/or his designee to execute the grant agreement and all necessary documents

NEED/IMPACT:

The census for the Court's Commitment Alternative Program has increased. The program will run additional T4C cohorts from March 13, 2024 through the end of the grant cycle. An additional nine (9) youth will be enrolled in this 3 month cohort. We anticipate an additional 30 classes added. T4C facilitation is $300 per class = $9,000. Additionally, transportation services are required to transport youth to and from T4C class to ensure they maintain compliance. The court has partnered with Let's Go Transportation for this chartered service. Let's Go Transportation is compensated at $2,400 per month and will continue transporting our youth for the next 3 months = $9,600. The court was awarded $18,600 in additional funding.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The award will provide additional funds to the Juvenile Court
