PURPOSE:

PLANNING STAFF: (March 11, 2026) Approval.
STAFF ANALYSIS: The property owner of 4251 East Side Drive in Decatur, requested a street name change for East Side Drive which begins at Wesly Chapel Road and continues for 1,135 linear feet and ends at Pleasant Woods Drive. The renaming would honor her late husband, who operated his business at this address for over 40 years. The Property owner has submitted the proper documentation via petitions meeting the required 51% support from other property owner on the street. Four (4) of six (6) property owner signed the petition in support of the street renaming. Adverse impacts are expected to me minimal but may include an administrative burden, as property owners and businesses must update addresses on business and personal item. Staff recommends “Approval” of this street name change request.
PLANNING COMMISSION VOTE: (March 11, 2026) Approval 7-0-0. Commissioner Cooper moved, Commissioner Patton seconded for Approval, per Staff recommendation. This application moves forward to the Board of Commissioners Zoning hearing on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.
