PURPOSE:
Pursuant to the Georgia Development Authorities Law, the Georgia Hospital Authorities Law, and the Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Authorities Act where, for the appointment of Directors to the Development Authority of DeKalb County; for the appointment of Trustees to the Private Hospital Authority of DeKalb County; and for the Directors of the Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Authority, the chief executive officer shall nominate individuals for confirmation by the board of commissioners as provided in Section 13A, CEO Thurmond nominates Mr. Andrew Greenberg for reappointment to the Development Authority of DeKalb County in Post 7 of Group 1; to Post 7 of the Private Hospital Authority; and Post 7 of the Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Authority. This is for a four (4) year term for the Development Authority of DeKalb County, which will expire December 31, 2026. This is a six (6) year term for the Private Hospital Authority and for the Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Authority, both of which will expire December 31, 2024. Mr. Greenberg has continued to serve after the expiration of his previous terms, the Development Authority of DeKalb County term having expired on December 31, 2022, and Mr. Greenberg’s terms for the Private Hospital Authority and for the Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Authority having expired on December 31, 2018
NEED/IMPACT:
The purpose of the Development Authority of DeKalb County is to develop and promote commerce, industry, and employment opportunities for the public good and general welfare of DeKalb County. It is imperative that the membership of the Development Authority of DeKalb County is enhanced with executives and leaders of DeKalb County so that this Authority’s purposes are effectively maintained and managed

To confirm the reappointment of Mr. Greenberg to the Development Authority of DeKalb County in Post 7 of Group 1 with the term being effective upon confirmation and expiring on December 31, 2026; to the Private Hospital Authority in Post 7, with the term being effective upon confirmation and expiring on December 31, 2024; and to the Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Authority in Post 7, with a term being effective upon confirmation and expiring on December 31, 2024
