PURPOSE:

The Purpose of the Agenda Item is to provide funding for the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce for business education programming.  

 

NEED/IMPACT:

Supporting DeKalb Chamber of Commerce business education programming is a strategic investment in the growth, resilience, and long-term economic success of DeKalb County’s business community. Small businesses, entrepreneurs, and emerging leaders often face challenges related to access to training, capital, workforce development, technology adoption, and evolving market conditions. The Chamber’s educational programs provide critical resources, professional development opportunities, mentorship, and networking connections that help businesses strengthen operations, increase competitiveness, and adapt to changing economic demands. By equipping business owners and professionals with the knowledge and tools necessary to succeed, these programs foster entrepreneurship, support job creation, expand economic opportunity, and contribute to a stronger local economy. The impact extends throughout DeKalb County by promoting business retention and growth, cultivating a more skilled workforce, and strengthening partnerships that drive sustainable community and economic development.

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:
